David Miliband MP today welcomed the Budget as delivering real help now to get people, especially young people, quickly back into work, and support businesses and homeowners facing problems.
The Budget also supports investment in the growth industries of the future on which Britain’s success will be built.
Speaking shortly after the Chancellor delivered the 2009 Budget, David Miliband MP said:
"I welcome today's budget with its focus on jobs now and jobs in the future. Today's announcements will continue to support hard working families in South Shields.
The measures in the budget will help us deal with the economic difficulties and continue to support jobs, families and the environment.
Our government will not take the decision to do nothing like the Tories did in the 1980's and 1990's. South Shields is a great town and as the town's MP, I will ensure that this government continues to do everything it can to support hard working families and business."
